I know that being active and taking care of our bodies changes lives, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I know this because I have lived it. I have experienced injury and illness, and I know what it feels like to be physically unable and disconnected from your body. Those experiences shaped how I teach and why education matters to me.
When we take care of our health, everything changes. We show up differently in the world. We move with more confidence, make better choices for ourselves, and feel more connected to who we are. Pilates builds awareness, demands presence, and teaches people how to move with intention. This is what continues to draw me to this work.
After teaching movement full time for over a decade, I have worked with a wide range of bodies, needs, and abilities. Watching students gain confidence, develop understanding, and step into their own capability is what continues to motivate me, especially when that growth happens in future teachers.

Dance was my first language. I trained and performed in ballet, contemporary, and commercial dance, completing formal education in dance in both Toronto and Vancouver. Dance shaped my eye, my expectations, and my respect for disciplined movement practice.
Yoga entered my life during a period of injury and transition, offering stillness and reconnection when physical expression felt unavailable. That experience was pivotal, it is what first sparked my desire to teach movement and support others through physical practice.
Pilates brought everything together. What began as conditioning within dance evolved into a deeper understanding of movement, structure, and teaching. Through comprehensive and therapeutic Pilates training, and later becoming a Master Teacher Trainer, my focus shifted toward education, mentoring instructors and building thoughtful, effective teacher training programs.
