What is Pilates?

Pilates is a stand alone fitness modality, it focuses on full body strength, stability and mobility. Pilates uses apparatuses with spring tension to create resistance to strengthen your muscles and support when needed. Pilates helps us build awareness of our bodies, it forces us to focus on mind body connection when we practice it. Pilates builds core strength, which is essential to all movement. It promotes mobility in our joints and flexibility in our muscles which are crucial for health and longevity in our bodies. Whether you are an athlete working on specific goals, brand new to fitness, recovering from injury, pre or post natal, no matter your age or ability Pilates is for you.
